விலங்கறுத்த கால்நடக்கும் கால்நடந்த பின்னர்விலங்கிருந்த நாளும் கனவு

vilangarutha kaalnadakkum kaalnadanda pinnarvilangirunda naalum kanavu

When the fetters are cut, the leg walks; and once the leg has walked, even the days in fetters are a dream.

பூட்டிய பூட்டின் திறவுகோல் தன்கையிற்பூட்டியவன் காணான் திறப்பு

He locked the lock, and the key is in his own hand; the one who locked it does not see the opening.

683. Freedom within confinement

அடைத்திடினும் ஆக்கையை ஆக்கையுள் நின்றகடலை யடைப்பா ரிலர்

adaithidinum aakkaiyai aakkaiyul nindrakadalai yadaippaa rilar

Though the body is shut in, none can shut in the ocean within it.
